Glenn P. Milgraum is an experienced trained “Divorce and Civil Mediator” and has been qualified by the States of New York and New Jersey appearing on the roster of court approved “Mediators”. He has been educated, trained and qualified to provide services as a “Civil Mediator” as well as a “Mediator for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases” (including Domestic Violence Cases).
Mr. Milgraum has earned recognition of his peers and has been awarded the designation of “APM” (“Accredited Professional Mediator) by the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (“NJAPM”). Mr. Milgraum provides “private mediation services” as well as those mediations assigned by the Courts, and will act as the mediator if both parties are willing to hire him as the third-party neutral.
Mediation uses a trained neutral third-party professional to assist in resolving disputes. Mediation is a convenient forum to settle “Divorce”, and other disputes, in a non-adversarial friendly fashion. Mediation reduces “conflict” and can save the parties thousands of dollars in litigation costs. The process is confidential and cannot be used in court, and the mediator does not represent either party. Mediation is performed in scheduled sessions to assist the parties in obtaining what they believe to be a “win-win” settlement for all.
The mediator will assist the parties in communicating with each other to achieve a mutual agreement. It is not the role of the Mediator to give legal advice. However, the Mediator from time-to-time might explain the law as it pertains to your matter, or bring in other professionals (i.e.: financial or psychological) to assist.
Mr. Milgraum acts as a “review attorney” for mediations concluded by other mediators throughout New Jersey and New York. He comes highly recommended and does not “rock the boat” and undo the hard work of the mediator and the involved parties. However, as a “review attorney” he is obligated to inform his client as to those areas that deviate from the norm and areas he believes would be in the client’s best interest to revisit prior to signing a “Marital Settlement Agreement” or other type of Agreement reached.
