Arnold Sampson, Jr.’s mediation style might be described as ‘eclectic’ because he listens and reacts utilizing his formal education in the field of psychology (B.S, M.S.) his experiences as a former college instructor (Univ. of Phoenix, Morgan State Univ. and the Community College of Baltimore City,), as an SP and a PETA for Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, an SP for the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing, a member of his city’s Board of Ethics, a former military officer (who served as a medical evacuation helicopter pilot in Vietnam- as described in his book: “DUSTOFF More than met the eye”), and having worked on the Administrative Trial Panel for the BPD.
As a respected practitioner of mediation, he believes ‘problems were made to be solved’ and can usually be solved better by the people in the dispute, with the benefit of a neutral, than by the ruling in a court.
Initially, Arnold was trained by the Baltimore City Community Mediation Program in 1997 and began child custody mediations working for Sheppard Pratt’s Family Mediation Program. Shortly thereafter, he began mediating buyer-seller disputes for the Maryland Association of Realtors, and is currently on the roster for the following Circuit Courts:
