Helayn Cohen understands that individuals are unique, and the circumstances surrounding their disputes are unique as well. This factor, and the long history of helping people makes Helayn the mediator for you. Her career began in the public sector working for the City University of New York (“CUNY”), where she held various positions from counseling students, both academically and emotionally, to designing and training faculty/staff in the use of a database, which she designed.
Helayn followed her dream to and became a lawyer, where she continued to serve her community, including receiving recognition as Pro Bono Attorney of the Month and an Access to Justice Champion.
Helayn currently serves as both a mediator and arbitrator on the Court Rosters of New York, including N.Y Small Claims Mediation, and Suffolk County and Nassau County’s Mediation and Arbitration Panels. Additionally Helayn is a member of FINRA’s Arbitration Panel. Helayn is available to mediate the following areas of focus:
