At the Gentle Law Firm, LLC, we Amanda Downs Gentle and Mickey J. Gentle, are a husband and wife team of attorneys admitted before the Alabama State Bar. Our mission is to provide competent legal services, representation, and counseling from a Christian perspective, seeking to assist our clients in addressing their legal issues under the highest ethical standards. We view it to be our duty to seek to understand fully the unique situations of each client, listening carefully and asking the necessary questions to discern all the courses of action that the client has in order for the client to make an informed decision.
We are both third generation natives of Madison County, Alabama. Mickey received a Bachelor of Arts (with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Political Science) in 1992 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, his Juris Doctor (graduating magna cum laude) in 1997 from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, and his Master of Arts (in Public Affairs) in 2015 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Amanda received her Associate of Science (with a major in Criminal Justice) in 1994 from Calhoun Community College, her Bachelor of Science (with a major in Criminal Justice) in 1996 from Athens State College, her Master of Science (in Criminal Justice) in 1999 from Jacksonville State University, and her Juris Doctor in 2016 from the Birmingham School of Law.
Our practice is mainly probate law. We assist clients in estate administration, will probates, and summary distributions. In addition, we write wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives. We also assist clients in family matters such as adoptions, divorces, custody/support/visitation cases, and decree modifications. We mainly work in Madison, Limestone, and Morgan Counties, but we will go to other counties as well.
Mickey J. Gentle is registered on the Alabama Supreme Court mediator roster. He completed his domestic mediator training through Cartography Consulting d/b/a Alabama Mediation Training and serves as a domestic relations mediator.
