Byana Turner-Jackson

Turner Divorce Mediation, P.C.

Byana Turner-Jackson

After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a BA in Psychology, Bryana Jackson was torn between continuing her psychology training and pursuing a career in law. Bryana chose law because she wanted a profession that would give her many ways to have a positive impact on others. In law school she quickly saw many areas that lack the personal engagement that she wanted for her career.

It was not until she enrolled in her school’s Divorce Mediation Clinic that she found her passion. Serving as a divorce mediator allowed her to draw on her psychology background, engage with interpersonal relationships and practice law in a way that permitted her to have a positive influence on her clients’ lives.

After graduation, Bryana worked in the Matrimonial Part of the New York Supreme Court for Judge Delores J. Thomas, where she watched her Judge consistently encourage couples to find a settlement that would avoid the cost, emotional damage and loss of control involved with a full trial. After her time with the Judge, she joined a boutique matrimonial firm as a litigation associate to build her knowledge of the law. It did not take long for her to realize that litigating divorces didn’t give her the same satisfaction as mediation.

Turner Divorce Mediation, P.C. was born from her frustration with the unnecessarily acrimonious, costly and drawn-out divorce litigation process. Always aware of the intense emotional turmoil often associated with adversarial proceedings, her practice focuses solely on achieving out-of-court settlements, tailor-made for each couple’s unique circumstances, through more amicable means. Her goal is for every client to arrive at the other side proud of what they’ve achieved—and better prepared to venture into the next phase of their lives.
