Business Name: Fredman Baken & Novenstern, LLP
Phone: 914 997 9070

Ms. Ellen Jancko-Baken practices solely in the area of matrimonial law.  For more than 30 years, Ellen has assisted clients in devising creative solutions to matrimonial problems with an emphasis on preserving assets, promoting healing and protecting child welfare. She pursues these goals proactively and cost-effectively with an eye toward minimizing counterproductive and time-consuming litigation. In situations where preventive strategies are not feasible, Ms. Jancko-Baken aggressively defends her client’s rights in trial and appellate proceedings before the courts.

Ellen favors Collaborative Law, an alternate dispute resolution method because she strongly believes that her clients are better served through interest-based negotiations than through costly litigation. She understands the limitations of the court system and aims to protect the children and preserve the family resources as best as possible and reach each resolution of the issues with the family’s future well-being always in mind.

Ellen currently serves as first VP of the NYACP (NY Association of Collaborative Professionals).  Ellen is a 1989 graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, having served on the Law Review.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.

Ellen is a member of the Bar of the States of New York and Connecticut. She also is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
