Mediator's Profile

Jen Mitchell

Business Name: Solace Divorce Mediation

Jen Mitchell has been practicing law for 16 years and served as an Illinois litigation attorney for the first nine years of her career. Jen saw the emotional, financial, mental, physical, and spiritual destruction the courtroom setting causes to families. Having her own children opened her soul to understanding the devastation her role as a litigation attorney was causing and changed the course of her career.

Since 2014, Jen has been obsessed with creating a BETTER way to divorce, one that is rooted in empowerment and growth. Solace Divorce Mediation empowers clients to embrace themselves as the absolute best authorities to determine what is in the best interest of their children and to determine a fair and equitable manner to divide the marital property they worked so hard to accumulate.

The heart of Solace is children, the foundation is self-care and self-love, and the soul of the practice is authenticity. We provide our clients with the resources, tools, and skills to help them learn, heal, and grow through their divorce journey, helping them to emerge from the process stronger and more aligned with their life purpose than when they began. Solace shifts the way people are viewing and experiencing divorce from destruction to empowerment, and enables couples to exit the marriage in the same way they entered, with respect, mindfulness and love.
