John Lemieux

John Lemieux is a Portland native and a graduate of College of the Holy Cross and Boston College Law School, and has been practicing law since 1980. After spending eleven years as Chief Legal Counsel for the Maine State Employees Association in Augusta, John decided to manage his own law practice for several years, and then decided to open The Law Office of John Lemieux in the Woodfords Corner area of Portland in 2011.

As a Portland mediation attorney, John’s believes he can help you avoid contentious litigation and the emotional and financial damage litigation incurs. He focuses exclusively on this beneficial and more amicable dispute resolution process that does not pit you against your “opponent” but uses problem-solving negotiations to come to mutually-beneficial terms. John is a formally-trained certified mediator who has resolved hundreds of cases with a high success rate, and has the honed skills and legal proficiency that can be put to work for you.

Legal and financial disputes can be stressful and complex. In some cases, it is possible to arrive at solutions amicably, even when dealing with the most seemingly complicated and heated matters. His goal is to help you move forward when reaching an impasse with the other side in a family or business dispute.
