Micheal Jackson

Micheal S. Jackson attended Auburn University from which he graduated in 1976 with a B.A. degree in Journalism.  Mike then attended Cumberland School of Law, Samford University and obtained a Juris Doctorate in 1979, magna cum laude.

Immediately after completing law school, Mike clerked for the late Hon. James Bloodworth, Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, from 1979 to 1980.  Mike then clerked for Hon. Robert Propst, United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Alabama from 1980 to 1981. Mike began private practice in 1981 where his emphasis has been on civil litigation in a wide variety of matters, such as:

  • Products liability
  • Employment practices liability
  • Medical malpractice
  • Nursing home malpractice
  • Workers compensation
  • Construction
  • Commercial litigation
  • First party insurance cases
  • Premises liability
  • Will contests

Additionally, Mike has represented various agencies for the State of Alabama in civil litigation and legislative drafting for trade associations. Mike’s practice also includes transactional and probate work including business formation, wills, estates and trusts and he has experience representing clients before the Alabama Public Service Commission, primarily in telecommunications.

In addition to his trial practice, Mike has had an active appellate practice before the Alabama appellate courts and the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
