Offices of Richard Lutringer
Based on a 35 year career as a business lawyer in New York City as well as extensive training and experience in the science and practice of mediation, Richard Lutringer, from offices in New York City and Southern California and online, now acts exclusively as a mediator. He is considered a go-to mediator for “business divorce” disputes among shareholders of small and mid-sized companies, including family-owned businesses. He is also experienced in complex corporate, commercial and family probate disputes. In addition to his strong corporate and commercial law experience as counsel, Richard has over 250 hours of advanced mediator training and is certified as a Family Business Advisor by the Family Firm Institute. He has resolved disputes in a few sessions, whether not yet in the litigation process or those which have tied up lawyers and their clients in litigation for months or years. Successful mediation puts an end to the costs and emotional drain of litigation.
Unlike drawn-out trials and the pretrial process, which sharpen hostility, mediation can rebuild or preserve relationships, save time, money and allows the parties to get on with their lives.
For many years Richard has been chosen to be a judge/mediator at the annual ICC Mediation Advocacy Competition in Paris. He has also participated in workshops in mediation for law students, mediation training courses as well as for professionals at conferences of the ABA, ACR, NYSBA and other organizations.
