Mediator's Profile

Tom Crosby

Business Name: Crosby ADR
Phone: 510 418 0040

Tom Crosby is a full-time mediator with a reputation for fair and impartial treatment of all parties while bringing conflicts to resolution. Tom creates a safe, facilitative environment and engenders trust by all parties with his calm, patient demeanor. Always well-prepared and empathetic, he ensures both sides feel heard and understood in order to remove any emotional impediments to a resolution.

Tom spent several decades as a trial attorney, which enables him to absorb facts quickly and understand complex legal issues. Tom asks the right questions necessary to re-frame issues, uncover difficulties, and help clients more objectively understand the strengths and weaknesses of both their own and the opposition’s cases. Tom respects the attorney’s role in representing his or her clients, and he strictly upholds the confidences of both attorney and client.

Tom began training in mediation in 2005, when he attended the highly regarded “Mediating the Litigated Case” at Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine School of Law. He has undergone additional advanced mediation training by Steven Rosenberg.

Tom closed his litigation practice in 2016 to pursue his dream of developing a full-time alternative dispute resolution practice: Crosby ADR.  Tom serves on the Board of The Mediation Society. He also serves on the Board of Contra Costa County Bar Association’s ADR Section. He was Chair of the Alameda County Bar Association’s ADR Executive Committee.

Headquartered in Oakland, Tom serves clients throughout Northern California and is available to travel. Please contact us to inquire about our mediation services and determine if Crosby ADR is right for you.
