Carol Romine earned a Bachelor of Science degree, with Honors, from Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis. In 1996, Romine graduated from the Indiana University School of Law and passed the bar on her first attempt.
Carol spent the next seventeen years as a family law attorney with Holt Fleck & Free, which eventually became Holt Fleck & Romine. However, Carol became convinced over the years that there had to be a better way for people to get divorced. Moving on yet again, Carol opened her own firm in 2013, now named Indiana Divorce Mediation Group, LLC (“IDMG”).
Carol developed a pro-se mediation practice that would result in a less attorney-driven process and a less adversarial, less expensive, and more child-focused divorce. The word “pro-se” means there are no attorneys representing the clients. Having achieved her goals through IDMG, Romine, works with couples who want to divorce with dignity. In order to make pro-se mediation available to more couples, Romine is teaching other family mediators how to do what she does.
