Hon. Bethany Hicks served as a judge on the Maricopa County Superior Court for more than 23 years during which time she presided over civil, criminal, juvenile, probate, and family court calendars. Judge Hicks uses her years of experience in the courtroom to provide constructive dispute resolution services through the mediation and arbitration of family, civil and probate law disputes, and to serve the interests of children as a parenting coordinator.
Mediation can provide parties involved in disputes many benefits that the court system cannot. These include quick and more flexible resolutions, reduced costs and confidentiality. Mediation can also help preserve relationships and can help parties to a dispute find creative solutions which may benefit all.
Prior to her time on the bench, Judge Hicks was in private practice focusing on domestic relations, real estate and corporate law. She has taught civil trial practice seminars for second and third year law students at Arizona State University. She has also conducted numerous CLE programs, including contempt and virtual mediation training.
