Mediator's Profile

Steve Henry

Business Name: The Henry Law Firm, P.A.

Steven Henry is a family law attorney practicing in the heart of Johnson County, Kansas. Since 2008, he has offered empathetic legal advice and determined representation to each of his clients. He understands that life’s journey occasionally creates bewilderment, anxiety, and stress in families that may require the assistance of a skilled and understanding attorney.

Steve’s focus is on responding to your needs, educating you about the law and the legal process, and implementing the proper strategy to help you achieve your goals. He strives to minimize your anxiety by working with you in close partnership toward a successful conclusion that protects your interests and those of your loved ones.

One option that often reduces the grief and legal expense associated with divorce, is hiring a trained family law mediator.  Steve Henry is a Kansas Supreme Court approved Domestic Mediator and helps his clients prepare for and benefit from this method of alternative dispute resolution.

Mediation is a process by which the parties to a legal dispute work with a neutral third party, to help them try to settle points of disagreement. During the process, the mediator will typically learn each party’s position on the dispute, discuss the legal merits of each side’s case and guide the parties through negotiations.

Mediators are neutral and don’t tell the parties how to settle. If the mediation is successful, the parties will emerge with a written agreement addressing key settlement terms. If the mediation is unsuccessful, the parties retain the option to pursue the dispute in court. However, even if mediation is unsuccessful at first, the parties can return to mediation at a later stage.
