Mediator's Profile

Lindsey Bayman

Business Name: Lindsey Bayman Mediation

Lindsey Bayman believes that even the most complex cases can be resolved with persistence, patience and determination. She tailors her approach to each mediation by careful consideration of the facts and issues presented and helping the parties identify the strengths and weaknesses of their positions. With 99% of cases settling before trial, her goal is not merely to settle a case, but to get it resolved as early as possible, helping the parties preserve resources and goodwill.

Lindsey is admitted to practice law in California and the U.K. and holds an LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution from USC Gould School of Law. Raised in Hong Kong and educated in England, her path to becoming a mediator has been nontraditional.

She began her career with Dentons, working first in their London office before transferring with the firm to Los Angeles. After years of large-firm experience, she moved in-house, working with various entertainment companies handling business affairs and supervising litigation. Eventually, she joined Paramount Pictures where she spent a decade as Executive Vice President, Motion Picture Business Affairs.

At Paramount she was constantly immersed in deal negotiations, ranging from matters as small as the per diem for Betty White’s limo driver to matters as complex as the contingent profit participation for A-level talent. Each negotiation, large or small, had to be handled with care and attention to detail — a philosophy that she brings to her mediation practice. In this environment, she was able to hone her negotiation skills on a wide array of issues, including:

  • Employment
