Mike Freed is a trial lawyer with a wealth of experience in the courtroom, with administrative proceedings, arbitrations and as a certified mediator. As an attorney, board certified in business litigation, his practice spans a wide range of substantive legal disciplines and specialized industries including:

- Corporate governance
- Education
- Health care
- Hospitality
- Labor and employment
- Construction
- Logistics
- Transportation
- Receiverships

In recent years, Michael has turned to mediation, as he understands trials are a zero-sum game, where one party wins and the other loses. With mediation, there are opportunities for a win-win, or at least for both parties to get things they could not get through trial.

Michael has spent more than three decades advocating for mediation but can be quoted as saying that he's learned more about what makes for an effective mediation during his first year serving as a neutral than during his 25 years as an advocate.

The training to become a certified mediator is extensive, but true insight into the process comes from sitting at the head of the table and observing the positioning, posturing, strategizing and emotion that lawyers and litigants bring to mediation.

Additionally, Mike serves as counsel for a variety of companies, with regular involvement in:

- Personnel matters
- Labor relations
- Contract negotiations
- Insurance, risk analysis and strategic planning

Mike has appeared on national and local television and radio programs including The Today Show, 20/20, Good Morning America and National Public Radio. He is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education presentations on various substantive legal topics and professional ethics. He also has been published, both inside and outside of the legal community, regarding a variety of subjects.
