Biography
I have spent my career helping families navigate some of the most difficult transitions they will ever face — divorce, custody disputes, and the restructuring of family life. My practice is built on a single conviction: most family disputes can be resolved more constructively through structured communication and cooperative problem-solving than through adversarial litigation.
After earning my J.D. with honors from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2006, I began my career in family law and quickly recognized that the courtroom was rarely the best place to resolve matters involving children, shared finances, and long-term family relationships. I became a certified mediator in 2008 and completed collaborative law training through the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois in 2010. Since then, my practice has been focused almost exclusively on mediation, collaborative divorce, and settlement-oriented family law representation.
I am a past President of the Illinois State Bar Association (2021–2022), a distinction I hold with great pride. In that role, I worked to advance access to justice and promote alternative dispute resolution as a mainstream option for Illinois families. I have also served as Chair of the Board of the ISBA Mutual Insurance Company and as an Illinois State Delegate to the American Bar Association.
My mediation practice is centered in Chicago and Cook County, though I work with families throughout Illinois. I specialize in divorce mediation, parenting plan negotiations, and collaborative divorce. I prepare a Memorandum of Understanding at the conclusion of mediation that parties can use to formalize their agreements through the court system. I am particularly well suited for couples who want to maintain control over their own outcomes, protect their children from unnecessary conflict, and move forward with dignity and clarity.
I am fluent in both English and Polish, which allows me to serve Chicago's substantial Polish-speaking community in their native language — a capability I consider both a professional asset and a personal privilege.

Editorial Responsibilities
As an editorial reviewer for Lawsuit.com, my role is to evaluate the factual accuracy, legal precision, and practical completeness of articles covering divorce mediation, collaborative divorce, parenting plan disputes, and Illinois-specific family law mediation procedures. I review content against current Illinois statutes, Illinois Supreme Court Rules, and established mediation and collaborative law practice standards in Cook County and throughout Illinois.
My editorial review is strictly limited to content accuracy. I have no involvement in the selection of mediators listed in the Lawsuit.com directory, no financial interest in referrals generated by the platform, and no role in advertising or commercial decisions. If a topic falls outside my direct area of expertise — such as commercial mediation, Florida-specific procedures, or federal court matters — I will decline the review and note the limitation. I recuse myself from reviewing any content that directly references my own practice, my clients, or matters in which I have participated as a neutral or counsel.
