With extensive training and experience on the Bench, as well as being a former litigator and longtime Arbitrator and Mediator – comprising over 40 years in the legal profession – Judge Billie Colombaro is equipped to navigate complex conflicts and find creative solutions that meet the unique needs of each party in a Mediation.

In Mediation, Judge Colombaro's goal is to help all parties reach a mutually beneficial agreement that is fair, sustainable, and preserves their relationships if they choose to move forward after settlement. In Arbitration, it is the Hon. Colombaro's objective to reach fair decisions – based on the law and the facts – with an efficient process.

Judge Colombaro is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (an invitation-only professional association), a longstanding Arbitrator and Mediator with the American Arbitration Association, a neutral with the American Health Law Association and with Resolute Systems, as well as a Fellow with The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a former Mediator with the New York Courts Commercial Mediation Division.

She created a course, rooted in science and based on her years of courtroom observations, called “The Power of Presence,” which she has taught to Harvard Law Students and lawyers / Arbitrators worldwide, as well as to Fortune 500 executives. The course gives attorneys advantages in persuading Arbitrators, judges, and juries and provides business executives with similar techniques in achieving their objectives in the Boardroom.

While Hon. Colombaro serves clients, primarily, in New York City and the surrounding areas and states, she has served and is qualified to do so nationwide.
