Hon.-Robert-Jenevein

Hon. Robert Jenevein

Business Name: Waddell Serafino Geary Rechner Jenevein, PC

Hon. Robert Jenevein began his legal career at Haynes & Boone before opening his own civil litigation and mediation practice in 1994. His private practice flourished until 1998, when he ran for and won a seat on the Dallas County judiciary. At the age of 36, Judge Jenevein presided over more jury trials and disposed of more cases in his first year on the Bench than any civil judge in Dallas County history. When he returned to a priviate practice of litigation, mediation, and arbitration, he had presided over 250 jury trials, thousands of Bench trial and hearings on many thousands of motions.

Judge Jenevein is known for his expertise in jury selection, a topic on which he enjoys speaking. In March of 2001, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather ran an Eye-on-America spotlight on jury trials in Judge Jenevein’s court.

As a civil litigator before and after his tenure on the Bench, Judge Jenevein has handled a wide variety of cases, from:

  • Personal injury
  • Labor & employment
  • Landlord-tenant disputes
  • Complex commercial
  • Construction disputes

Jenevein has won over $100 million in arbitration awards to his clients, and he has presided over dozens of cases either as a sole arbitrator or as a member of a panel. Additionally, he convened over 3,000 mediations with a settlement rate that has never dropped below 82%.
