Practice Area:Collaborative Divorce, Divorce, Family
Jody Schneiderman has been an attorney for almost 30 years and provides services in the family law arena and focuses on “Out of Court” options, such as Collaborative Divorce, Mediation and utilizes litigation only when necessary. Jody uses her in-depth understanding of the court system, along with her training at the University of Chicago, to craft comprehensive and compelling narratives for her clients. She is a powerful and effective advocate, both in and out of court, as well as in her Collaborative Practices. Her warmth and genuine concern for her clients’ well-being throughout the divorce process is the driving force behind her intuitive ability to resolve cases, whether through collaboration, mediation, or litigation.
Her passion for family law was ignited mid-career when she witnessed friends and colleagues struggling with divorce. She saw firsthand how challenging the process could be for everyone involved. Witnessing families emotionally and financially destroyed and children suffering through complex custody battles inspired me to shift my law practice to work primarily in family law. As a seasoned attorney, and someone who eventually went through her own divorce, she brings empathy, mastery, and multiple tools of empowerment to the table.
Jody is dedicated to advocating for the rights of her clients and is especially concerned with ensuring their emotional safety, as well as their children. This makes the divorce process as streamlined as possible for all parties involved.
Jody is certified in Mediation and Collaborative Divorce through Northwestern University and Collaborative Divorce Illinois respectively. She has had extensive training in Collaborative Divorce and is also a member of The International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and a Fellow of Collaborative Divorce Illinois.
