Mediator's Profile

Logan-Mackensen

Logan Mackensen

Business Name: Mackensen Mediation, PLLC

Ms. Logan Jacobson Mackensen attended University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and then graduated from Wayne State University with Honors, Magna Cum Laude, in 2003.  Logan then attended Pepperdine University, Caruso School of Law, in Los Angeles, California, from which she graduated in 2005 with her Juris Doctorate degree.

Throughout law school, her desire to help those in need led her to the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office where she was a law clerk until she was hired on as a full-time trial attorney after passing the California Bar Exam.  At the end of 2010, Logan elected to move back to Metro Detroit where she joined her father in the ownership and management of mobile home parks across the country.  In that capacity, Logan had the opportunity to learn various aspects of:

  • Contract law
  • Real estate law
  • Landlord/tenant law

During this time, Logan also attended Walsh College in Troy, Michigan where she attended business, accounting and tax classes, obtaining her Finance Certificate in 2013. Logan believes that her extensive and diverse education and variety of work experiences could and should benefit others.

As a trial attorney, Logan spent years advising clients on the possible scenarios and outcomes they were facing and on the merits of their cases. She reached many successful settlements for clients, where appropriate, and tried many cases through to jury trial.

As a real estate property owner and manager, managing almost 10,000 residential units, Logan gained an entirely new viewpoint. Instead of being an advisor, advocate or an outside observer, Logan was forced to understand litigation from a client’s prospective.

Logan’s unique perspective now helps her to understands what separates a winning case from a losing case, and she enjoys honestly guiding litigants and their lawyers towards amicable resolutions of their disputes.

Mediation, Logan believes, really allows people to stay involved in the outcome of their dispute – to have a say in what happens to them – to create a solution that works for them.

Logan is now a general civil and domestic relations mediator, and parenting time coordinator. She is currently a volunteer mediator at Oakland Mediation Center and is on the Circuit Court roster of approved mediators for both domestic and general civil disputes in Oakland, Macomb, Ingham and Genesee Counties.
