Stephen S. Gealy

Nebraska Mediator | Personal Injury | Wrongful Death | Trucking & Transportation | Products Liability

Stephen S. Gealy brings more than four decades of litigation and trial experience to his mediation practice. Throughout his career, he has handled personal injury matters ranging from soft-tissue injury and property damage claims to catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation. Having represented both plaintiffs and defendants, Mr. Gealy understands the legal, financial, and emotional dynamics that influence settlement negotiations from every perspective.

Before dedicating his practice to mediation, Mr. Gealy tried well over 100 cases in state and federal courts involving automobile accidents, commercial trucking collisions, product liability claims, fire losses, aircraft, agricultural, oil field, and industrial accidents.
During the latter part of his litigation career, he developed substantial experience defending commercial motor carriers and transportation-related claims.

Today, Mr. Gealy works almost exclusively as a mediator, helping parties resolve complex disputes efficiently and thoughtfully while avoiding the uncertainty, expense, and risk associated with trial. His extensive courtroom experience allows him to provide realistic case evaluations, identify litigation risks, and assist parties in reaching practical resolutions that might not otherwise be achieved through the adversarial process.

Mr. Gealy believes mediation provides litigants with something the courtroom often cannot—a meaningful opportunity to be heard, understood, and actively involved in shaping the outcome of their dispute. While trial outcomes are ultimately determined by judges and juries, mediation allows parties to retain control over the resolution of their case and reach outcomes tailored to their individual needs and interests.
